PAYING FOR CARE
How care is paid for
We verify your coverage and bill your claim. Many patients pay little or nothing out of pocket, depending on coverage. We explain any costs before treatment starts.
MedPay (Colorado)
Medical payments coverage on your own auto policy. It usually pays no matter who caused the crash, up to your policy limit.
The at-fault driver’s insurance
If another driver caused the accident, their liability insurance may pay for your care, usually when your claim settles. MedPay, health insurance, or an attorney lien may cover care until then.
If you were at fault
Your own MedPay may still pay your medical bills, and health insurance may help after it runs out. Colorado allows fault to be shared, so you may still have a claim.
Coverage rules and policy terms change. We check your current coverage before your first visit. More about paying for care

I went to the ER or urgent care and they said I was fine. Should I still be seen?
Yes, it is a good idea. ER and urgent care teams focus on ruling out emergencies like fractures, bleeding, and head injuries. Soft tissue injuries such as whiplash may not be fully checked there, and they can take a day or more to cause symptoms. A follow-up exam looks at how your neck and back move and gives you a record of your injuries soon after the accident.
My accident was minor and the car had little damage. Do I still need an exam?
It is worth getting checked. Car damage does not always match injury. Bumpers are built to absorb impact without much visible damage, while your head and neck still move quickly forward and back. Whiplash and other soft tissue injuries can happen in low-speed collisions, and symptoms often build over a few days. A free screening can help you decide whether you need care.
Who pays for my care?
It depends on your coverage and who caused the accident. In Colorado, care is often paid by your own MedPay coverage, the at-fault driver’s insurance, your health insurance, or an attorney lien while your case is open. We verify your coverage and bill your claim. Many patients pay little or nothing out of pocket, depending on coverage. We explain any costs before treatment starts.
What is MedPay and does using it raise my rates?
MedPay, or medical payments coverage, is part of your own auto policy. It pays medical bills after an accident, usually no matter who was at fault, up to your policy limit. Colorado insurers must offer it, though you can decline it in writing. Whether a MedPay claim affects your rates depends on your insurer and your situation, so ask your agent before you file.
What if I was at fault?
You can still get care. Your own MedPay coverage may pay medical bills no matter who caused the accident, and your health insurance may help after MedPay is used. Colorado also allows fault to be shared between drivers, so you may still have a claim if the other driver was partly at fault. An attorney can review the details. We help verify your coverage before treatment.
How long do I have to file a claim in Colorado?
In Colorado, the deadline to file a lawsuit for injuries from a car crash is generally three years from the date of the accident. Other deadlines can be much shorter, such as notice to your own insurer or claims involving a government vehicle. Rules can change and every case is different, so we recommend speaking with a personal injury attorney soon after the accident.
Can I see any chiropractor after an accident?
Yes. In Colorado you can choose your own chiropractor after an accident, and you do not need a referral. An insurer may suggest providers, but you are generally not required to use them. Look for a clinic that treats auto injuries often, keeps detailed records, and works with insurance and attorneys. Our team does all of these, under one roof in Littleton.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly. If your attorney or physician referred you, let us know and we will coordinate with them.
Will you work with my attorney?
Yes. With your permission we send records and reports directly to your attorney’s office.
How long does treatment take?
It depends on the injury. Your plan lays out expected visits and checkpoints, and we adjust as you improve.
